PRETTY WORK
Nothing completes a classic sport fishing rig like a real wood helm pod.
Enhance your boats look with a timeless custom Sapele Helm Pod featuring our bespoke aluminum inlays.
What is Sapele?
Sapele lumber is exceptionally durable and resistant to moisture, making it ideal for use in boats, yachts, and other marine vessels. With its natural beauty and rich coloration, it adds a touch of elegance to our helm pods.
Our Process

Measure twice, cut once
Fitting a Helmcraft Marie helm pod starts with three key measurements: the width and depth of your helm area, and — most critically — the angle of the helm itself along with the radius of that angle. Because the pod mounts in a clean, unobstructed area with no existing instrumentation in the way, we're able to get an exact fit that sits flush

Design
The inlay designates the boat's brand and size designation, with aluminum lettering machined to exact tolerances and set into the wood surface for a flush, seamless finish. CNC files are generated directly from our measurements The result is a pod that isn't just built to fit, it's built to spec.

Production
Once the measurements are locked in, CNC files are generated from the customer's exact dimensions — translating real-world geometry into precise toolpaths that drive every cut. The aluminum lettering is machined to tolerance and tapped into routed pockets for a flush, permanent fit. No two pods are ever cut the same way. We finally send it off to the varnish booth for 6 coats of epoxy-based UV-resistant varnish.
